Angelina Pena is Associate Professor at Faculty of Pharmacy - University of Coimbra and researcher at the LAQV-REQUIMTE.

Her research areas are related to health surveillance monitoring, with emphasis in safety assessment of food additives, foodstuff contamination with veterinary drugs and mycotoxins, and population exposure estimation.

She also focuses on pharmaceuticals monitoring in environmental samples and environmental risk assessment evaluation.

H-Index 29. She has published 86 indexed articles, 2 books, and 9 book chapters and participated in national and international conferences with more than 200 oral and poster communications.

Supervised/co-supervised 6 PhD thesis, 12 MsD thesis and 1 Post-Doc and participated in 7 research projects.

EFSA expert of the aspartame organizing team between 2008-2010.
