Luana Fernandes is a PhD student in Food Science and Technology and Nutrition, with a dissertation about the "Effect of several post-harvest technologies on the quality and food safety of edible flowers ", developed at University of Porto - Faculty of Pharmacy (REQUIMTE), Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (CIMO) and University of Aveiro (QOPNA).

Luana Fernandes is graduated in Nutritional Sciences by the Oporto University-Nutrition and Food Science Faculty (FCNAUP) in 2009, and MSc in Quality and Food Safety by Polytechnic Institute of Bragança-School of Agriculture in 2011.

Until now, she has published 11 articles in international scientific journals, 3 articles in national scientific journals, 3 oral communications and 16 poster communications. Scientific award (Caixa Geral de Depósitos Best Student in 2011/2012)
